Arc

The Automated Reconstruction Command (ARC) is a global organization dedicated to rebuilding and rehabilitating the human world following the devastating Alien Invasion of 2195. Established by the victorious Earth Defense Coalition in the aftermath of the conflict, ARC acts as a central coordinating body and repository of alien technology, knowledge, and scientific expertise. The organization seeks to restore the Earth's ecosystems, repair infrastructure, and rehabilitate human society.

Governance

ARC is governed by a council of representatives appointed by the nations of the Earth Defense Coalition. The council is tasked with making broad strategic decisions for the organization and acting as a liaison between ARC and individual national governments. The current council includes representatives from France, Russia, Japan, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, India, South Africa, Turkey, New Zealand, Mexico, and China.

Structure

ARC is structured around a network of mobile, heavily armored bases of operations known as ARC HQs. These self-sustaining bases house the organization's key personnel, technology, and scientific research, and travel the world as symbols of hope and unity. Currently, there are 12 ARC HQs in operation, with the largest based in Washington D.C..

Mission

ARC's mission is divided into several key areas:

  1. Restoring infrastructure: ARC's primary task is the rebuilding of infrastructure devastated during the Alien Invasion, including transportation networks, communication systems, and urban centers.

  2. Eradicating alien influence: ARC seeks to eradicate the remains of alien technology and influence, both on Earth and throughout the solar system. This includes the ongoing defense and maintenance of Earth's early warning network, as well as the development and deployment of advanced exo-solar defense platforms.

  3. Repairing ecological damage: ARC is also responsible for repairing and restoring the Earth's ecosystems, which were severely damaged during the Alien Invasion. This includes large-scale environmental remediation projects, such as the restoration of the Amazon Rainforest, the Great Barrier Reef, and the Serengeti.

  4. Cataloging and researching alien technology: ARC has a dedicated division focused on the study and cataloging of alien technology, with the goal of turning it to humanity's advantage. This includes research into xeno-biology, materials science, and new energy sources, as well as the integration of these discoveries into human technology.

  5. Coordinating global recovery efforts: ARC acts as a central coordinator and research institution for human recovery efforts, supporting the development and dissemination of new technologies, knowledge, and practices to aid in global rebuilding efforts.

Evolution

Initially, ARC was focused solely on rebuilding and rehabilitating the human world following the Alien Invasion. However, over time, its mandate has expanded to include long-term research and development, exploration, and diplomatic missions. Today, ARC maintains a strong presence in a variety of fields, including materials science, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, energy production, and environmental science.

In addition, ARC has become increasingly intertwined with the political and economic structures of the global community. The organization stands as a powerful intergovernmental actor that guides, supports, and safeguards humanity as we reclaim and rebuild our world, both here on Earth and throughout our solar system.
