Governor

In this timeline, the titles of "Governor" are collectively known as Co-Governors. The term lasts for six years, with Co-Governors selected through direct popular votes and serving over different regions of the country: Sunburst and Frostlands. This distinct model distinguishes between domestic matters, handled by the Executive Co-Governor, and foreign affairs, managed by the Diplomat Co-Governor.

Electoral Process

Every six years, political parties field two-member tickets for the Co-Governor positions, ensuring representation from both Sunburst and Frostlands. Candidates within each ticket must belong to different political parties, preventing a single party from holding complete control. The chosen Co-Governors will serve and collaborate for the six-year term, thereafter subjecting them to a second election.

Executive Co-Governor

The executive branch of the Co-Governors is held by the individual occupying the "Executive" role. Their primary responsibilities are domestic matters, focusing on internal affairs, the economic prosperity of Sunburst and Frostlands, and addressing citizen concerns.

Part of their role requires them to be the primary public face for their term, maintaining regular contact with people and handling crises as they emerge. In the case of political stalemates with the legislative branch, it falls onto the Executive to establish consensus and drive solutions that benefit their respective region.

Diplomat Co-Governor

The second Co-Governor, known as the "Diplomat," assumes the position to foster stability between Sunburst and Frostlands, as well as establish diplomatic ties with neighboring countries and alliances. They ensure that inter-regional relationships remain strong, representing the entire nation's best interests on the world stage.

Their responsibilities include the following:

• Collaborate with the legislative branch to draft and implement international agreements.
• Actively seek partnerships and alliances that improve Sunburst and Frostlands' relationships with their allies and help to address security interests.
